Deschutes River Gorge and Mount Jefferson

Mount Jefferson is one of my favorite photographic subjects. I hope to be present for a chance to photograph the Deschutes River gorge in the foreground of this image partially filled with fog.

The Deschutes River provides the moisture for the fog that forms when the air temperature is in the low teens farenheit. If there is no wind the fog fills the side canyons in a beautiful manner.

I've been scouting for the correct place to position myself. This photo is from not quite the perfect place, but close to it. I had to get to work, so more exploration will have to wait until Saturday morning.

Mount Jefferson is spectacular and needs no fancy trappings.
