a rail for hanging

Until I get round to getting and fitting a clothes-drying pulley, the picture rail a few feet down from the ceiling around the staircase is as good a place as any. They're out of the way and not using up floor-space, are getting some nice air currents and are high-up where the warmer air ends up now that it has been deemed necessary (by, I stress, the house's other two residents) to turn the heating on. Also used for hanging things are the three fittings for the yet-to-be-replaced hallway mirror, though they tend to get my in-use bicycling-topwear rather than drying laundry.
