The world in a wine glass

Staring down into an empty wine glass, I can see the whole world in the curved lens of the bottom. Well, when I say world I really mean kitchen and my shirt!

Because the whole view is inside the glass, the odd distortions all around the outer edge are little points of wine residue. Made me think of microbes floating under a microscope.

Odd coincidence, there is actually a short natural history film called "The world in a wine glass" from 1931 about protozoa living in water.

However, I'll now go for tomorrow for my entry for the WBC theme of "DRINK".
