Old Friends

We drove from New Jersey yesterday afternoon to Westchester, north of NYC, to visit Marge and Steve. Marylee met Marge in  1970 when they were both starting  graduate school at Teachers College, Columbia, and they later worked together.  I met them in 1994 soon after I met Marylee.  

They have been married 45 years. Marge is a top administrator at a community college.  Steve is retired from the Post Office (note his sweat shirt), which he joined with the intent of bolstering the union and rose to manager of training.  The rise of Occupy Wall Street is right up Steve's alley--he has been a regular participant. They are very dear friends, and I blipped this portrait after a superb breakfast of Marge's special french toast.
