Tap-Tapping

Haitian public transportation- These are usually pick-up trucks with two wooden benches in the back and an improvised metal roof. In most cases the colorful art painted on the outside costs more than vehicle itself. Like many words in Creole, "Tap-tap" is an onomatopoeia, (word named after the sound associated with it). Passengers bang the roof making a "tap-tap" sound to request a stop.
