Jackdaw

This bird confused me this morning. When I saw it fly into the tree I thought immediately that it was a Jackdaw, but when I put the camera to it, I couldn't see any of the usual grey at the back of the head. But everything else says it is a Jackdaw, so I can only assume that it's some kind of variant
