Baby Sunflower

This is a sunflower seedling that Jen snapped off some weeks ago.

It has since grown some roots, sat in the bottle of water.

Meanwhile, the beheaded stalk remains in it's pot looking bemused (my best description) and wondering what next. It definitely is not going to grow any new leaves!

Being avid gardeners (not) we may get around to planting this mini success but I worry for it's future in the garden with all those slugs.
