Fondest Memories

3.25 p.m. Shrewsbury Cemetery, Shrewsbury, Shropshire.

The small area devoted to the dead of the first and second world wars is surprisingly for a small provincial town not solely of British casualties. Many are of those Germans and Italians who were imprisoned here and sadly died weeks and sometimes just a few months after the end of the war.

It also commemorates those Salopians and people of Shropshire whose lives were lost overseas and whose true grave may never be found. Lest we forget.
