Spent Poppy

This poppy when in it's glory was a double frilled oriental style poppy in the softest pastel pink. It looks like a small peony (my favourite flower). You cannot buy then in nurseries. I was given some seeds from a friend many years ago and so far I have managed to grow them every year by self seeding. This year, only this one popped up and I am jealously looking after it to save the seeds for next year.

If you look you can see the raindrops on it. Yes, it is raining and likely to continue for the next day or so. What a change from a few days back when we were melting.
