Fredagspils

The Norwegians have a word for Friday beers - Fredagspils - which is something I'm undecided on. It is relatively Jarvislike to acknowledge the end of the working week with a beer or three, but drinking with the after-work non-Jarvs and anti-Jarvs can be irritating. A bar loses one full Jarvis point for every single person in there wearing a suit. Hence All Bar Ones in the UK actually wind up with a negative Jarvis score. But this little place, Justisen in Oslo, rates quite highly on the Jarv scale, both for the crispness of the cooking lager and the musical tastes of the bar staff. Its heritage listing also means the wooden interior can't be gutted, so that is a good thing.
