Guy Fawkes Night

November brought me a new British cultural experience. Guy Fawkes Night is November 5th. Halloween isn't really a thing here - but this Nov. 5th night of bonfires and fireworks displays definitely is. We went to the huge formal bonfire and fireworks celebration at a Manchester city park, but were also lucky enough to have witnessed another, smaller and more intimate, affair in the dive centre car park outside of the city.

To top it off, at the end of the night we also witnessed an intimate fireworks display near our flat. This photo shows one of those fireworks.

There were many great photos of each of these events, but I had to include a sample of the fireworks photos that A took. There were moments when I literally thought we were risking our lives to take these photos, as we were within maybe ten metres of where the fireworks were being set off.

It was a fun night.
