Autumn at Holme Fen

The birch trees at Holme Fen in Cambridgeshire are beautiful in the autumn - their small golden leaves contrasting so well with the silver trunks. The fallen leaves look like gold coins littering the ground. Deep gold ferns add to the magic. C and I drank our cups of tea by the lake as usual and the stillness was only broken by the 'laughing' sounds of the geese overwintering there. This is a truly special place...

For the record: 14C, sunny spells, lovely and mild for the time of year. How lucky we are.
