Near Baltimore

We flew to Baltimore today to visit Len (my eldest son) and his family (more tomorrow). For once I sat next to the window, and this was the most intriguing shot I took, early on the approach into BWI (Baltimore-Washington International) south of the city and north of Washington DC.

I found this extended plant on Google; it's on Sparrows Point, quite southeast of downtown and just east of the Francis Scott Key Bridge on I-695. I find it quite fascinating, especially viewed large.

We flew as always on Southwest Airlines--our favorite U.S. carrier. We're fortunate that Baltimore is a hub and has direct flights to Bradley International, just north of Hartford, Connecticut, and about 35 miles from Northampton.
