Blue Asbestos

Times they are a changing.

I work in the fast paced technology sector where the Red Queen rules:

"You have to keep running just to stand still". (from Alice in Wonderland)

Translated it means that you need to bring the next generation to market quickly because your competitors won't wait.

I've passed this boarded up shop front many times and never stopped to look at it.

Today I did and noticed that not only is it badly painted blue the business used to specialise in asbestos.

Not much call for that these days.

On a more gluttonous note I had a very nice dinner out last night with a Russian rocket scientist (by training) and some other clever people from around the world. Suffice to say that after a couple of beers we were putting the world right and wondering what we would all do post-apocalypse when there are no computers anymore.

I can't remember what we decided.

Probably for the best.
