Is Glasgow cross?

And I owe the bad pun to the fact that I was just reading the Wikipedia entry on David Beckham, childishly amused by the information supplied about his third child, namely, that 'the word "cruz" is Spanish for "cross".' A little unhelpful, I thought, since the word cross in English has several meanings of course (including one specific to football), and only one of them means cruz.

In other news, yesterday's election boasted a devastating turnout of 13.65%. Perhaps Glasgow really is cross.
