"When in doubt snap a castle..."

To quote "A Dog's Dinner", i figured i might do just that.

Possibly the most photographed building in Edinburgh, and if i was being honest with you i had no intention on going to take a photograph of this today. I went out in the car and followed the roads and saw where i took me. Ended up driving past the National Gallery of modern art, Tynecastle Stadium (after parking down several hundred steps to Edinburgh Castle), Murrayfield, and some other buildings that i didn't know what they were.

One of the buildings that caught my eye that got me quite interested in knowing what it was was a sort of castle like looking building (around 3-400 years old) surrounded by loads of grassland and some gates. There was this one, and another one which had a really long public road leading to it. I had never seen them before. Both buildings were around the Gorgie area. If anyone knows what buildings these are then i'd love to find out.

Have a good day.
