This morning as I was orienteering round Black Carr Woods...well to be accurate; sloshing, slurping, slipping and sliding through the evil smelling mud that is BCW, I drifted back to the same time last sunday when I was out orienteering round the streets of Venice in the sunshine, dodging tourists, counting alley ways, marvelling at beautiful architecture round every corner! No point in blipping orienteers today. By the time they had emerged from the gloom like monsters from the black lagoon, they were finished and in a hurry to get back to their cars, peel off the mud and buy a cake from the Juniors' Fund-raising stand to go with their cuppa.

So what else to blip? The only things of beauty just about in sight through the murk was a family of swans, remarkably still with six cynets.

It would probably do to look at this in large. You might be able to see big and little orienteers running in to the finish on the opposite bank!
