A wee bit of rain!

We've had a wee bit of rain over the last twenty four hours! Some cracking thunderstorms to wake up to this morning too. We had to send some kids home early as the rivers that run through the valleys were flooding. TeeJay and I decided to head up to Maruia falls after work today to see if it was high. Both of us were agog at how high the Buller was as we were following it along. We often glance down it as we pull up to turn down towards Westport (Road to which was closed this afternoon due to slips) Normally when we look it is a nice blue/green colour and very 'gorgelike' ie well below our view. Today you could really see how it could feasibly flood the road! It was so high.
