Allin Matala

Allin Matala is old wooden building located at the former brewery area near Toppila, Oulu. The permission for the brewery was received officially 1863 for local porter and some other types of beer. Unfortunately the last patch of famous TOP beer was done 1979. All this time Allin Matala served faitfully as brewery pub and survived wars and the big fires at the wooden district.

Now Allin Matala is owned by local beer club. They keep the building in good order preserving the unique history of the area and also rent the place for wedding receptions etc occasions.

Today I again watched this nice building at the corner of old industrial area while biking to the sports center to play some badminton and back home. Was thinking what will happen to this place in near future as the city is refactoring the are for new use and at the moment they are actually building few big and clunky apartment houses right next to the place.

I will keep my fingers crossed that this piece of local history will survive.
