Quadrangle

Here is the quadrangle in Edinburgh University's Old College, just off South Bridge. This building was originally conceived by Robert Adam but it was William Henry Playfair who designed it after Adam's death in 1792. When I was a student here in the early 1980s this quadrangle was a messy car park. The lawn now makes it look altogether posher.

I took this photograph at about 4.30pm. I'd spent the afternoon at an eLearning meeting in Hill Square, and managed to grab the last of the daylight here. It's not the best picture, this, I had to take it with my mobile phone since another blipper has taken possession of my Canon G10.
