Life is a Minestrone !!

An old stomping ground.................

Shortly after moving to Hampshire from Teeside way back in 1981, i bought a lovely little house in a small village called Bishops Waltham.
Straddling the main road that ran through the village were a pair of ponds.
I thought i'd pay the smaller pond a visit on the way home from work this morning.
The banks of the pond were saturated due to the heavy rain we had yesterday and over night last night.
It's not a particularly big pond, roughly in the shape of a triangle, probably 200 to 250 meters across it's widest points.
I was thoroughly disappointed to only find a hand full of coots in residence, no swans or ducks of any sort.
So the blip was obvioiusly going to be a Coot..............and here it is.
There was no wind at all this morning, and there was quite a thick fog hanging around, making the air feel very damp, the lack of wind made for a virtual mirror like surface to the pond, so the vegetation on the banks was mirrored directly on to the waters surface..........
So from being initially disappointed in the lack of wildlife, i was really pleased with this capture........

Can be viewed large here............

Thanks for stopping by.
