Legoland Florida

We took a drive out to the new Legoland Florida today. It was a long drive. It wasn't worth it.

It is, apparently, the biggest Legoland in the world. There didn't seem to be a huge amount there and what was available was very much for young kids (we obviously knew in advance that Legoland was designed for kids, but it was still a letdown even with this in mind). Jason is only seven, and he enjoyed quite a lot of the rides, but even for him there wasn't a huge amount to do. Considering the attractions available much closer to the tourist base of Orlando (or Kissimmee, Lake Buena Vista, etc.) I would have expected Legoland to create something special, but they haven't. We lasted about three hours before heading home.

A word of warning for anyone making the journey...they don't accept travellers cheques. Everyone else in the Orlando tourism area, from department stores to coffee shops, accepts them but Legoland don't, so take cash.
