We had stormforce winds in the Hebrides today, with an unofficially recorded gust of 82 mph at Eoropie, near the Butt of Lewis, just after 4pm. The high winds are thought to have contributed to a fatality on the roads in the islands, when a motorist went off the road in Harris and ended up in a loch. The image shows the angry white riders on Stornoway Harbour at 3pm, amid sustained winds of 50 mph.
