Ticking Away the Moments

Evesham

Had to go into Evesham today, first time for quite a while and we weren't planning to stay long. But we thought we'd have a look at the market stalls - and found quite a few things to buy, including a new pair of flat shoes for commuting to London - for me, not Gary ;o) - for a bargain £5.99

We also went into the Waterside shopping centre which has been slowly dying since Woolworth's and M&S Food closed down. But there are a few lovely little shops still there so we got some Christmas presents from the children's clothes store, Jack and Jill. The toy store opposite also has some great stuff - we got a Jacob's Ladder toy and a colouring kit which is magnetic so the artwork can go straight up on the fridge! Plus a few bits and pieces from the Sue Ryder charity shop, nice bright pair of magic gloves for my mum who has tiny hands so needs either those or children's ones.

Lots of people about, all carrying shopping bags so they were buying too - and a brand new Poundland is opening where Woolworth's was so that is another positive sign. I know it is a discount store but it is a big chain that will hopefully bring people in so they can see the little independent shops in the centre too.

Really enjoyed what turned out to be a morning shopping instead of a dash into town and straight out again - the last few times we've been into Evesham the town has looked as though it was dying so it's been good to see it lively and busy. Let's hope it continues once the Christmas shopping effect has worn off.
