Take a leek......

......chop it
add it to......
500g self raising flour
250g suet (veg or beef works equally well)
salt and pepper
mix with......
enough cold water to make a not-too-sticky dough
Place in a greased bowl, cover loosely with foil (it's going to rise a bit) and steam until it's cooked (a bit vague I know but it depends on the bowl size and shape, definitely at least an hour......ish)

I'll be having mine with a liver, smoked bacon, red onion and fennel casserole, it's a day for comfort food!

TOP TIP: Make twice as much as you think you can comfortably eat 'cos the sliced leftovers are delicious fried until crisp and golden for a Day 2 breakfast with bacon or sausage......or just on their own to be honest

EDIT: It also helps if you check that your pan of water for steaming the puds doesn't boil dry once in a while....voice of experience, I might blip the burnt pan tomorrow!
