Pumpkins in my future?

When I lived in a cooler climate and with larger oak and maple trees in the yard, I used to put the pumpkin seeds from a pie pumpkin out at the base of the trees and within hours fat gray squirrels would come and carry them off - a feast!!

My current yard lacks large trees and Florida squirrels must not know about raw pumpkin seeds. Last week after making my pie (it was YUMMY!!) I put the seeds out for the critters, and instead of being carried off for winter storage, at least half of them have sprouted into baby pumpkin plants. Guess I'll leave them for awhile and see what happens - may offer some blipportunities in future days.......
