Sweeeeeeeets

Candied fruit on a stick. This man was selling these outside the subway station. He looked cool, so I took a pic. He spotted me, and Terri spotted the sweets and so we got some. They are called Tang Hu Lu (roughly pronounced (tongue hoo loo). Tang, means sugar and hu lu is a kind of vegetable that's shaped like the sweets you see here. They are particularly delicious later in the winter during strawberry season.. MMmmmmm.

Our usual day off adventure was to include a movie today but no one was showing anything in English so we opted to go to the other end of the subway line and go to a nice market we like. The weather online said it was -2 so we dressed fairly lightly. No winter coats. The weather did, however, forget to mention the freezing wind that made it feel like -20. Still, it was a good day. We got new (of course matching) gloves and new scarves and some nice street food at the market.
