Congratulations - Fun Night Prize.

Took this Monday night so 'backblipping' on Tuesday morning.
On Monday night the normal obedience class turned into a Fun Night session where we do things like knockout races to find the fastest dog, Jonty won this for the past 2 years but last night he ran diagonally to me instead of the lady that handles him so that I can take Foxy!! Isla the Toy Poodle won it this year against collies, retreivers, springer spaniel etc.....

What the prize is that the boys are eating is - Believe it or not - 'Retrieve the Sausage'.
Instead of the normal doggy toy, rope or dumbell used for retrieves Fun Night substitutes a sausage! The dog sits, told to wait (as normal), the sausage is thrown and the dog told to 'Fetch It'.
Obviously most dogs, including Jonty, wolf the sausage down before anyone can come to take it off them. A couple actually bring it back to the handler before being told they can eat it.
In Foxy's case I only threw it about 5 feet and when he started to eat it I shouted 'LEAVE IT', which amazingly he did! He picked it up again but before he started to chew again I grabbed it out of his mouth and held it up claiming a prize!!!! He got it because he's so cute and has made a huge amount of progress in the months he's been attending classes.

He actually doesn't like the chew, but Jonty loves it !
