So C is on the plane to London as I write- excellent timing for a nice, long, relaxing break in Heathrow airport. I hope he actually gets to see London at some point.

Finished the Christmas cards for posting last night, and even managed to wrap (in beautiful Chinese-themed paper, thus the blip) a few token gifts for family and friends, then realised that we haven't really done either of those things since we moved to China. You just kind of miss the whole excitement of, and therefore lead-up to, Christmas here.

Having said that, there is an increasing fondness for the bling of it- lights, trees, singing Santas, life-size reindeers and the rest- it's just a bit less everywhere. And more than once have I heard Jingle bells played in the summertime...
