Before the rain and after the rain...

Very wet and wild day.

The river Nith rose 9 feet between 11am and 3pm just with rain water, the SEPA river levle Gauge was off the scale. It burst its banks and flooded in many places and that is without the 9 feet tide which hit at 1.30pm, the Whitesands was completely closed.

Many roads were closed, some were passable with extreme caution. There was a land slid between Cummnock and Thorhill. There was a land slip on the railway and British rail had to put on other means of transport.
