There's something in the water

This photo shows debris and waste alongside Lancaster Road. It has been left by the River Lune, probably after a flood event. You can't really tell from this picture how dire the situation is - I was truly horrified at what had been carried by the water, on its way to the Irish Sea. Marine litter is a massive problem with real consequences (plastic fragments being eaten by marine organisms, for example), and rubbish being dumped by humans is the reason why.

This was only a small section of the affected area. I wonder if anyone who lives here cares?
