A83 Closed - Again

Today's plan was to get up early and travel to Glasgow for some Christmas shopping before heading to Northumbria tomorrow to visit friends.

Just as we were about to leave Mrs farmer friend phoned to say that the A83 was closed (yet again!) at the Rest and Be Thankful due to a landslide and flooding. As the detour via Dalmally adds about an hour to the journey we decided to take the 2 ferry route from Tarbert to Portavadie and then Dunoon Gourock. Its a pleasant journey, other than the large hole it leaves in your wallet.

Anyway, it provided some opportunities to get a blip inbetween very heavy showers. Todays blip should be a familiar to Gourock blippers as it is taken from the ferry just after leaving Dunoon and as a double rainbow appeared in the sky.

I would love to have a Snapper rant about the number of closures on the A83, but just don't have time. It will have to wait until another day unless, that is, Snapper gets there before me!
