A friend came round today with some old photos he wanted me to scan. Needless to say I couldn't scan them without cleaning them up...

After he'd gone off happily with his scanned images on his flash drive, I remembered that I had a plugin that allows colorisation of B&W, so I thought I'd play with it.

This is one of his mother that must have been taken at least 60 years ago. The black and white picture on the left is the cleaned up version of the original.

I've no idea whether the colours are anything like the lady or her clothes, but it shows how old B&W pics can be given a new life quite simply...and it's good fun!
