Trams? Who needs them

Saw this and had a thought, we probably could have got a few of these on the route and it would have been far better. I'm thinking cheaper, more cost effective and a far lower carbon footprint. (I am sure you could very easily offset this against all the emissions involved in the WHOLE of that damned project so far.)
