Rags of light

One sugar or two?

'I have measured out my life with coffee spoons' T S Eliot

Saw this pile of abandoned spoons on my morning walk along the seafront. They were mostly cheap souvenirs from all over the world - everywhere from Matlock Bath to New Zealand. It made me really sad to see them - obviously someone's treasured memories just thrown under a bench. I wondered what the story was behind them. I took one home - called Budgerigars of Australia, with a pretty picture of two birds in the spoon itself. You can see it towards the bottom of the shot. One of my strongest memories of Australia is the birdsong, so I'll think of it when I use the spoon.
