Zany Janie

Janie Mason brings a colourful and zany touch to the quiet streets of Stirling .

She is like a walking, living museum combining Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian artefacts about her body including some Georgian buckles on her boots, a pocket chain watch from 1840, and a pork pie hat bought off EBay.


Originally from the Isle of Bute, Janie is sculptor and tattooist here for the weekend to support her sister, Joe Hall, who launched the "First Fridays" a bi- monthly series of pop up networking and art events for the area.

This is the start of creating a much-needed cultural hub. So often we feel as if we are living in an artistic wilderness between Edinburgh and Glasgow.


Tomorrow though Janie returns to Bradford where she lives and works with her husband.
" We met and married within 20 days of meeting.
And that was 16 years ago."
