Sooty winkles

A poor shot of Sooty Oystercatchers eating periwinkles late this evening in very so so light conditions and no flash. Well, it was really the only time I had the camera in my hand today so it will have to do.

A busy day which followed a very busy weekend. My apologies for lack of comments I hope to be catching up with you all.

The Elton John concert last night was good but not as good as his last one when it was just him and the Yamaha belting out the old favourites. He got a bit carried away (in my humble opinion) with jamming with the band. The two Croatian cellists were really very good. Their version of Highway to Hell was great. Nearly destroyed their bows performing but hey, that's show biz. There were the usual collection of strange and interesting concert goers and a near punch up in the row in front because of the bizarre dancing of one woman. More entertaining than the concert one thinks. Elton was looking very resplendent in black suit with long line jacket, blue silk? shirt and tasteful sequins on shoulders, lapels and spelling out EJ on the back. His drummer looked like George Kennedy and was about the same age, his lead guitarist etc of similar vintage, Dave Johnson - apparently a Scot, seemed to have a different instrument for every song but was very good. I was told today there were 17,000 people at the concert. Imagine all those people hopping into the cars, limos, buses and leaving. This was at the Hope Estate (vineyard) in Polkobin. The line up of cars reminded me of the last scene in Field of Dreams - except we were leaving.

The santa photos went well. Frantic but we've had made some good money which will go towards things we need.
