Resucued by a very nice man.

The car has waited four days for rescue but here it is getting ready for a trip home... well, to the garage.

When the AA chap jacked the car up to check the front wheel, he was able to shake it all over the place like it was barely attached. Glad I decided to stop and leave it there.
