Doorways...

Ever walked into a room and completely forgotten what you went there for in the first place?

I just heard of a recent study that explains the phenomena. The experiments found that people more easily forgot information when walking through a doorway as compared to the same distance in the the room. Apparently doorways act like event boundaries in your mind and your memory compartmentalises thoughts as it enters the new environment defined by the door. Your memory sort of resets itself preparing for a new environment that is through the doorway.

Now why did I come onto the interweb?!?!
