Colourfly

Still a bit of misty rain this morning but definitely clearing up so took the faithful hound for a walk around the inlet then home again - via a coffee of course.

Took my wee camera out into the garden and spent a lot of time trying to capture a reasonable image of these lovely wee flies. They very small and move very quickly and have antenna which I find unusual and may mean they are not flies at all!!

Getting this posted early as I have a Christmas function to attend this evening. The volunteers and staff of the Chinese Gardens are gathering for a chat and a bit of nosh - wont have to cook tonight!

( If anyone knows the name of these flys I would like to know. Are they native NZ?)
