Digger

A massive hole has been dug outside our house to fix the sewer for the umpteenth time. This time I THINK it's the last. On February 22nd I was at home for the big quake and once I kicked my way out of the tightly stuck back door, I ran out to the street and saw it erupting down the centre line with grey muddy water. It was a sight I'll never forget. And later when the hole was fixed temporarily, it kept sinking, and more fill was put in repeatedly. On June 13th, the 2 aftershocks caused mayhem for the men working on fixing the sewer, and the holes filled up with muddy water.

This massive machine has woken us up each morning at 7.15 trundling along and shaking us awake like some large novelty alarm clock.
