The Day I Stood On Top Of Telegraph Hill

This is the view from the top of Telegraph Hill over to the petrol station. A big hump of a hill that marks the start of the A380 and road into the bay. When I was young, there used to be an old man that lived rough here called Smokey Joe. In those days cars really struggled up the hill and when you passed him you were going slow enough to wave. If you look carefully when you climb it you can see a small marker in memory of him. A real character but I don't think he'd like the pace or volume of modern traffic.

In The News: Payday loans. Crazy. 4000+% APR. Quick fixes that can turn into complete nightmares. This is one area that the government should get involved. To me it seems like they are legalised loan sharks . One company will charge £129 in interest and charges to borrow just £400 over 31 days. Compare this to a local Credit Union loan of £400 over six months and the interest charged is just £12.49. Sorry, rant over.
