Alley View #3 - But Not

There seemed to be some interest in Kirk's Hardware, so I thought I'd show you the front door. I suspect that this facade was installed c. 1950. The glass windows tip forward to deflect glare...lots of shiny aluminum.

Kirk's is the only store in town that still has a screened front door...a pre-air conditioning necessity.

This building is rather large for a storefront. The hardware store fills half of the ground floor, but it's basement continues beneath the entire building. On the third floor there is an regulation basketball gymnasium. I've never seen it.

This isn't as stark as many of my shots, but it's interesting.
