Fiddling while Rome (Athens, Dublin, Lisbon) burn

This looks a bit of a smug blip. Maybe it is, but I just thought it sums up what a crazy world we live in.

Today is another public holiday here in España; Dia de la Immaculada.

So after a morning's work we headed out for a lazy, bank holiday lunch. With the sun shining, and it being in the 20s a bite to eat on the beach seemed appealing :-)

The national and international press were laid out in the bar. I pick up the FT; a favourite, not for it's financial analysis but because it's intelligent and unbiased.
So there I was, sipping wine, nibbling on cured cheese and 'jamon' whilst reading article after article about how Europe is on the brink of the greatest economic and social catastrophe since the depression, Nazi Germany and the Second World War!!

It's just such a confusing time. The media is constantly feeding us fear; politicians and bankers seem out of control; and I'm looking out to sea enjoying tapas. I feel like as Ostrich with head buried in the sand!
