Chemainus River estuary

Today I visited the Chemainus River estuary for the first time. The land was owned by the pulp and paper mill, but it was sold to Ducks Unlimited. Swallowfield Road is the way into the estuary. A short road that has a yellow metal gate. I parked my car and walked. When I came to an intersection, I took the left road, which led to the mouth of the Chemainus River. On the way back I walked the road to the right, which led to farm fields and eventually to the marshy seaside. The estuary is a quiet place. Fewer birds than the Cowichan River estuary. I saw one bald eagle and several ravens and crows.

I will visit again.
