Our "fireplace"

We don't have a fire in our house, and consequently no fire place.

Last year for our advent calendar we made 24 tiny Christmas stockings and thought they looked a little lost just hanging on the wall.

So I stole an idea I found on a parenting forum I frequent of painting a fireplace on some paper and sticking it to the wall. Last year we made a fake fire out of paper and stuck it to the radiator, but we haven't managed to do that yet.

This is the result.

We kept it last year and put it up again as our giant advent calendar at the end of November.

It is by far and away my favourite home made decoration!
