Raw Deal

Hangovers from yesterday (backblipped here) had to be put on hold as one of my students took me and friend and workmate, Justin, to a sushi restaurant this afternoon.
Korean sushi is pretty much nothing like the sushi I recently ate ten tons of whilst travelling North America. It very much has it's own stamp of Koreanness, the order of the day being as raw and fresh an experience as possible (backed up today by the fact that one of our dishes was still moving around on the plate).

Above we have raw white fish, one lot soft the other lot chewy, abalone, octopus, sea urchin, oysters, plus a fish soup and some spicy pork on the side. If you look very carefully you can also sea the abalone's intestines presented in it's shell - yummy.

It was a fun lunch, made all the funnier by Justin's hangover getting the better of him as we walked home, his face turning an impressive shade of green as he had to regularly fight back vomiting in the street.

Korean food blips are tagged.
