Stew Leonard's

Stew Leonard's is a legend here in southern Conneecticut. The store is nothing less than amazing. It has everything in food, and in abundance ... fresh mozzarella, all kinds of fish, meats, vegetables, fruit, gourmet dishes to take out or to cook at home, takeout food, baked products ... the list is endless.

The founder and owner, Stew Leonard Sr. also has a dark side. He spent around 4 years in jail in the 1990's.

Their wine "dept" is actually a huge store across the street, near where I took this photo <?> which was named 2011 Wine Retailer of the Year by Wine enthusiast magazine. The folks in there really know their stuff.
