The long awaited letter box

Well, it's Sunday and time for those jobs around the house. This one has been 3 years in the making. My partner always hated our old concrete letter box (admittedly it was ugly but it did not distress me in the same way) and he has been talking of changing it since buying the house. He spent the morning digging out the old one and installing the new one which comes with a rather fetching red door. Letter boxes have changed a great deal over 20 years and I have my very own key!! Coming from England I was surprised to find houses in Australia don't have letter slots in their doors. I hope I have some mail tomorrow so I can use my new key........
