Winter garden

A morning pottering in the garden and doing some useful things there - planting strawberry plants, burning last summer's tomato and other plants, that had at last dried out after the wet autumn we had, and pruning roses and olive trees. I thought this wild clematis looked suitably wintry, although it was warm in the sun.

Last night's concert was excellent - very good a capella singing by the group and a good crowd in the village church. In spite of the setting, the event wasn't religious at all, with a lot of traditional Occitan songs, including the two which have become Occitan anthems: 'Copa Santa', a hymn to Catalan-Occitan cooperation and 'Se Canta' - the twelve different versions of the latter here give some idea of the diversity of the language and how difficult it is to learn! I've put some photos of the concert on the Cercle Occitan website - here but can't find a youtube video of them for the sound.

The food in the bar last night was disappointing, although it was nice to get together a table of 22 of us with interesting talk and good wine, as always.
